Mary Gray - Sustainable Science Academy No. 1 Director

Mary Roberts-Gray in a native Oklahoman Black Seminole member of National Women In Agriculture Association since it was established in February 2008.  She was one of the original members that assisted providing technical assistance and connecting minority women farmers to USDA resources to help them save their farms.  She has been outreach assistant coordinator and traveled to several counties in Oklahoma and the United States assisting farmers to trust USDA programs and agents.  Also Mrs. Gray served as a financial coordinator for financial reporting.  Additionally, she serves as the Childcare Director at Sustainable Science Academy (the only Agriculture Childcare Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma).

Rhonda Spencer- Sustainable Science Academy No. 1 HR/Master Teacher

​Rhonda Spencer is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She is married, a mother of two, an educator and entrepreneur. She has a background in education that began in 1999 in the New York City Public School system, where she taught in The Bronx and Manhattan. She received her Master’s Degree in Education and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership at Cambridge College in Boson, Massachusetts, and would later become an adjunct professor and student teacher supervisor at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Tammy Gray-Steele - Sustainable Science Academy No. 1 Master Teacher

Dr. Tammy Gray-Steele is the first American agricultural specialist, agri-preneur, educator, and women and children ag-advocate. Born and raised on a farm, she received her secondary education in the rustic and rural community of Wewoka, Oklahoma. Upon graduating high school, Dr. Steele left Oklahoma to pursue a dual educational and business career in New York City. Armed with the legal degree she obtained from New York University Law School, and the requisite legal business experience she acquired on Manhattan's Wall Street, she returned home to her family farm, and started to give back to the Oklahoma rural communities, in the process working full-time in the Oklahoma Corporate legal arena, and devoting time to study for a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Horticulture and Childcare Development Certifications.

Ms. La'Sha Brown - Sustainable Science Academy No. 1 Teacher

My name is Ms. La’Sha Brown, and I’m a certified Early Childhood Educator with over six years of experience. I’m passionate about creating fun, nurturing, and engaging learning environments where children can thrive through play and exploration.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and hiking trails, which inspire creativity and calm in my teaching.

I’m proud to support Sustainable Science Academy (SSA), a chapter of NWIAA, in giving every child a strong, sustainable start in life. By age five, our goal is for each child to:
• Be fluent in English and Spanish
• Understand and use sign language
• Learn to grow and produce food

Together with NWIAA–SSA, we are preparing a new generation of educated farmers and leaders to better the world.

Ms. Abriana King - Sustainable Science Academy No. 1 Teacher

My name is Ms. Abrianna King, and I’m a passionate and enthusiastic daycare teacher with over four years of experience. I hold certifications in Early Childhood Education and have a strong background in creating nurturing, engaging, and stimulating learning environments for young children. I believe in the power of play-based learning and strive to spark a lifelong love of learning in every child I work with.

In my free time, I enjoy working on cars, drawing, and spending time outdoors. I’m excited to be part of your child’s early education journey and look forward to creating a fun, creative, and supportive classroom experience.

Respectfully, I am committed to assisting Sustainable Science Academy (SSA), a chapter of NWIAA, in ensuring that every child attending our centers receives a strong, sustainable jump-start in life. By the age of five, our goal is for each child to:
   •    Be fluently bilingual (in both proper English and Spanish)
   •    Understand and use sign language
   •    Learn how to grow and produce food to support their community

Additionally, I will support the teaching of Agriculture in the Classroom curriculum and contribute to the development of new agriculture-based childcare centers and STEAM secondary schools around the world.

Together through NWIAA–SSA, we are preparing a highly educated new generation of farmers and leaders committed to feeding and bettering the world.

Chyna McMillion - Sustainable Science Academy No. 1 Assistant Teacher

As an Assistant Teacher at SSA, I believe in our mission to provide children with a strong, sustainable start in life. I bring a caring spirit, a love for early education, and a dedication to helping each child grow through hands-on learning and play. Every day, I work to create a joyful, safe, and supportive environment where young minds can thrive and feel seen.
